HELENA LIBRARY: READING ROOM
Helena library in Piina is part of an educational project designed and being implemented by Tengan Foundation. Africa is a continent where people thirst for knowledge and education, yet the availability of books and other educational materials is very minimal. There is nothing better to do than to start a library project where the young and the old can develop a new window in order to look at the outside world and with the view to developing themselves with their own capacities. Helena library in Piina took off with contribution from the local village people of Piina and support from our family and friends in Belgium. The building now houses good collection of second hand books and local art works.

HELENA LIBRARY: ARTIST STUDIO
An archive and research department that has been established
as part of the library centre is facilitating the collection and proper
documentation of all knowledge source materials produced by individuals either
from the area or about the area. These materials include artefacts in private
holdings but which the owners are willing to deposit in the library. They also include the works and installations of local artist.
